DIY: Repurpose a Scarf into Flip-Flops!
On hot summer days at the lake, flip-flops are a girl’s best friend! They are easy to wear and best of all, they show off your spring pedicure! If you are looking for something a little more dressed up, you may want to try this stylish DIY project.
Things you’ll need:
– Old cotton scarf in good condition
– Flip-flops in good condition
– Scissors
STEP ONE: Cut your scarf in half lengthwise, so you end up with 2 long strips of fabric.
STEP TWO: Take one strip and fold it in half by bringing the ends together. Holding the loop, pull it behind the “Y” in the flip-flop. In front of the “Y”, pull your two ends through the loop. This will anchor the material to the sandal.
STEP THREE: Wind one piece of material around each sandal strap.
STEP FOUR: Repeat the process with the other sandal and material piece.
STEP FIVE: Put on your sandals and wrap the material ends around your ankle in a criss-cross fashion. Secure the ends with a square knot.
Voila! Enjoy your new, trendy flip-flops!
