If you’re a parent, you’ll probably understand the never-ending struggle of keeping your flooring clean and free of spills. Keep reading for some kid-friendly flooring options.
Carpeting
Though carpeting may not seem like the smartest idea if you have children, (or even spill-prone adults or accident-prone pets), advancements in carpeting technology have resulted in spill- and stain- and pet urine-resistant models, available in a multitude of different colors, textures, and patterns.
Engineered Hardwood
Engineered hardwood is a product that is as durable as it is good-looking. These kinds of products are generally scratch-resistant, and come in a variety of finishes, such as smooth or textural. If you choose engineered hardwood for the flooring in your children’s bedroom, consider adding in an area rug, which will provide a buffer should they spill, trip, or fall.
Cork or Bamboo
Looking for something cost effective and eco-friendly? Consider cork or bamboo. These unconventional flooring options are durable, soft, and warm. In addition, cork has natural anti-bacterial and anti-allergenic properties, making it a safe choice for your little one’s bedroom.
