Helicopter Ride Day Trip
On this episode of The Marc and Mandy Show, Dwayne Henderson from Great Lakes Helicopter shares the fun of helicopter rides for a special day trip. Keep reading to find out more.
Mandy: Going on a day trip is always an adventure, but what if you got to go by helicopter? I have Dwayne from Great Lakes Helicopter with me to tell us some of the fun that you can have. Now tell me, why do people tend to go with the helicopter and what’s some of the fun benefits of it?
Dwayne: Well, I think the exclusivity is a big draw for people. It’s private, so you’re not amongst a whole bunch of other people doing the same thing. Some of our customized flights is hunting, fishing, hiking, and outdoors type stuff. We can put you in places where you would normally spend a whole day hiking to get to the spot to the hiking, so we get you there and you can really enjoy the outdoors with us. Great Lakes Helicopter’s been a training facility for 15 years or more. And just the diversity of the helicopters got us into ride events on weekends for local fares, and then it expanded from there. We’re now doing restaurants and microbreweries, wineries in the Niagara region, even day spas.
Mandy: I love it. Now, do you find people tend to have a different reaction when they go up in a helicopter for the first time versus say even a smaller aircraft?
Dwayne: Absolutely, the helicopters have the big bubble windows. Even in the back seat you feel like you’re just part of the whole flying experience. You’re not cramped up into a small area. So, when you take off from one of our facilities in Grand Bend or Niagara and you head off to a restaurant or a spa for the day, the whole experience just becomes much more inclusive. It’s a nice way to travel around and it’s not as exclusive from a price point as one would expect either. It’s very affordable.
