Anti-aging Eyebrow Tricks for Mature Eyebrows
It’s inevitable: as we age, so does our skin, bones, and hair. Eyebrow fade is a very common symptom of aging, as over time, a combination of gradual hair loss and loss of pigment in the brows tends to occur. Instead of going through a procedure that is painful, (and painful to your pocket), such as microblading, you can enlist the help of a bevy of eyebrow products, specially formulated to spruce up low performing mature eyebrows.
Makeup artist Amanda De Roy, of Sheriff Cosmetics, shares some tips on how to maintain mature eyebrows.
Step 1: Find Your Shade
As a rule of thumb, your true eyebrow shade should match the hair on your head. Amanda uses a Sheriff Professional product, Brows Have It All, which is a palette that comes with various shades. This palette is helpful if you’re simply trying to figure out your shade, or you can purchase individual pots of the shade that works best for you.
Step 2: Groom the Eyebrows
Using an eyebrow comb or spoolie, brush the eyebrow hairs so that they are neat and facing the right direction.
Step 3: Shade
Start with a light shade on the bottom of the eyebrow. Next, shade the top. At this point, you should have a rough outline of the eyebrow.
Step 4: Fill In
When you fill the eyebrows in, apply in short strokes, using upward motions. Use a flat head or angled brow brush.
