Seasonal Wardrobe Transitions
Every girl loves a good plaid, be it the traditional “lumberjack” red plaid, or a subtler version, such as a plaid made up of cream, grey, and white, which is softer and more feminine. Fashion expert, Kayla Wan, shows us how to transition this versatile piece from season to season.
Fall:
The unique length of this shirt makes it ideal for the chiller months, such as fall, where you can wear it as a tunic with a belt and tights. The belt gives the garment an hourglass silhouette, and the black tights lend the illusion of elongation. Complete the look with a pair of neutral boots: a chic pair of booties could be better for early fall, and a sturdy pair of long books might be better for late fall. For the sake of cohesion, you can match your accessories to one of the undertones of the plaid.
Winter:
As fall shifts into winter, add a cozy blanket scarf in a solid color for good measure. Our fashion expert recommends sticking to neutrals; perhaps a scarf in tan, beige, brown, or even black. If you haven’t already started sporting those aforementioned long boots, winter is the time for them to shine!
Spring/Summer:
Once the last of the snow disappears, so should some of those layers. That means removing the belt, scarf, and boots altogether, and what you should be left with is a casual fit dress. Our fashion expert recommends losing the tights while you’re at it! (‘Tis the season for a little leg, after all) Supplement the outfit with statement bangles, a simple necklace, or a softer longer scarf, made out of a light weight material.
