One of the plainest benefits of travelling locally is that it can be wallet friendly, especially compared to travelling by air. By carpooling or taking a bus or train to your destination, you not only save the money associated with expensive flights, but you be doing less detriment to your environment.
As exciting as it is to travel by air, air travel is incredibly bad for the environment. And while there are still carbon emissions associated with driving, bussing, or taking the train, they are far less than that associated with air travel.
Contribute to local economy
Not only does travelling locally positively impact your wallet and the environment, but it supports local producers and local businesses, including farmers, restaurants, and shops of all kinds.
You can travel more
One unexpected upshot of travelling locally is that you can travel more, thanks to the money you’ll save on expensive flights. This will allow you to experience more of the treasures your country has to offer.
