You’re my Lucky Charm
When Marc and Mandy first met, they never expected a blind date would lead to an epic love story that includes a family, talk show, and reality TV series! Their secret to success is their love for each other on screen and behind the scenes. Marc and Mandy have been together for 12 years. When they met, Mandy had just started her career in the wellness industry and he had been the Editor-inChief of Canadian Home Trends Magazine for a few years. When they met, no one would have known it was their first date. They instantly clicked and talked for hours as if they had known each other for years. They ended up talking well after the little coffee shop closed and they didn’t even notice as they were caught up in their conversation. That night, Marc says he instantly knew he wanted to marry Mandy and he proposed, on June 19, 2011 and they were married the following June. Mandy describes Marc as Mr. Romantic and his proposal was like one out of the movies. They attended a concert that day and instead of bringing her home after, he surprised her with a little detour to a private beach that they snuck onto. It was a picturesque night with the sky filled with a blanket of stars. As they walked on the beach barefoot, Mandy looked up and saw a shooting star and said “Quick, make a wish!” and when she looked back down, Marc was knelt on one knee and said “I wish you would spend the rest of your life with me” and presented her with a beautiful princess cut diamond engagement ring.
When it came time to launch the TV Show, Marc was asked who he wanted as his co-host and he knew that Mandy was the best person for the job. Who better to have on camera chemistry with than the love of your life? Later that year, they built their TV studio and the Marc and Mandy Show was born that now airs on 7 stations in Canada, 200 stations in the USA, and even in the Caribbean! While filming hundreds of episodes in the last 8 years on TV, Mandy has gone through two pregnancies and says she feels it helped them better connect with their audience as many viewers are parents. Last year, they decided to put their relationship to the ultimate test with a brand new cottage build that they turned into a new reality TV series called “Vacay Getaway.” They wanted to show viewers the ups and downs of building a cottage while raising 2 kids and keeping their marriage strong through the never ending stress. Now that their cottage is all built, they are in the middle of a new adventure as they start a kitchen renovation in their home. As they tear down their old cabinets, they laugh and say “Take your anger out on your house, not your spouse,” Their journey from 2 young kids having coffee over a decade ago to a loving married couple has taught them so much! As they continue their journey, they are enjoying creating beautiful memories that will last a lifetime.
