10 Romantic Dates on a Budget
Romance, c’est l’amour. Romance seems like it should be the easiest thing to do, but yet many people find it difficult. If you really think about it, romance isn’t a complicated issue. It is really very easy (and cheap) if you follow my tips on doing it on a dime (or free!).
Blanket Fort – You don’t have to go all out with money; it can be as simple as building a blanket fort with your spouse/partner. Enjoy a picnic in the blanket fort, write love letters to each other and remember why you fell in love with him/her.
Relaxing Massage Date – This will surely set the mood (wink wink). Relaxing music, candles (dollar store), rose petals (dollar store again) and a sensual massage you give each other.
Love Scavenger Hunt – Basically it’s a “treasure hunt”, but to get the clues your spouse has to perform a task. For example: Feed each other chocolate dipped strawberries. Yum! As for clues, they can be put on pieces of paper or post-it notes that you probably have around the house already.
Ask Your Spouse on a Date – Here you will need a bit of creativity. Whether you are trying to get a first date or trying to get a date after 15 years of marriage, there are a few different methods you can use. For example:
- Leave a note hanging from their rear view mirror
- Send your partners/potential first date pictures that have clues about the location of your intended date
- Hide an invite in a book they are currently reading
- Formally invite him/her using pretty stationary
Be a Tourist in your City – Find a tour guide book and see what the local attractions are in your city. Spend the evening acting like tourists and don’t forget those cheesy tourist photos!
