DIY Solution for Slippery Hangers
Dear Marc:
I am revamping my closet and trying to hang as many clothes as possible and have everything organized. The only thing that bothers me is that my clothes sometimes slip off the hanger – especially those made of delicate fabrics. Any ideas how I can fix this?

Dear Lorraine:
The closet revamp – a classic weekend activity. We spend the entire week struggling to find what we are looking for in our cluttered closets. Things don’t end up where they are suppose to be and let’s admit it, our memory isn’t what it use to be. Most mornings we have a better chance of remembering every element of the periodic table as opposed to where we left our keys let alone our favourite shirt.
Like any successful project, we must start with a purpose and tackle any objections. Hanging clothes instead of burying them in shallow drawers is a great way to make these articles more accessible. But what do we do with our more delicate clothing that just slips off the hanger as soon as we place it on? I have the perfect home remedy for these hanger blues – hot glue!
Supplies:
– Hot glue gun
– Glue sticks
– Plastic hanger
Step 1:
Heat up your glue gun and run a bead of glue in a zigzag on the top ends of the hanger where it loops to the bottom corner. Let dry.
Step 2:
Hang a shirt on the hanger and place it in your closet. Repeat steps one and two for remaining hangers.
