The Truth About Portion Control
Eating all the right foods but not losing any weight? Health expert Jordan Cieciwa has some advice on how to make sure you have the right portions.
Eating healthy does not mean you can eat as much as you want and that is where a lot of people struggle. After eating unhealthy for many years, you’ve over-stretched your stomach. This is why, when you eat, healthy portion size is more important then how you feel.
Chicken breast is one of the healthiest meats you can buy but remember to use seasonings, not sauces. Sauces pack on calories whereas herbs and spices add flavour with less of a consequence to your body. In order to correctly portion your meats, have a scale on hand – don’t use your eyes to judge. A typical chicken breast weighs around nine ounces, something people would often try to eat on their own, but a proper portion is only three (ounces).
Take into consideration the things you’d want to add to a salad. Did you know that the proper portioning for an avocado is only 1/4 of it? When putting together a salad, the extras that you put in often have the biggest consequence on your weight and can prevent you from losing the weight.
Doing your research on portion control and creating meal plans is a great step towards losing weight- simply eating healthy won’t cut it.
